SPOOKY King of the HOUSE....Spooky was born in 1996. He was found at approx 4 weeks old wandering the streets of Kaneohe, HI. I was very lucky to be referred to the woman that picked him up, as she was known by our base vet as adopting strays from time to time. I went to her place to see him and it was love at first site! Most people that see Spooky say that he resembles a Maine Coon Cat. They are a very large and hairy breed, and Spooky is very large and harry! He weighs in at a whopping 12+lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal. He runs the house and loves to torment his daddy and cuddle up to mommy!
BOOMER DOG Boomer was born in 1996. He was born to a large litter of pups in kaneohe, HI. I had been searching for months for a Heeler Puppy. They are hard to come by on the islands, as herding dogs are not a huge necessity in locations where there is not much herding to be done! When I saw the ad for Heeler pups and wasted NO time in making the earliest appt I could get to go check them out. There were so many to chose from, and the decision was a tough one, but Boomer came home with me that day, and he has been my best good dog ever since. Boomer is an avid hunter and gets no greater thrill than to leave his latest catch on the porch for mommy and daddy to acknowledge. I don't know how he does it, as some of the ground hogs he brings us weigh in excess of 15lbs! Boomer came to me just 6 months after Sadie and they have rarely spent a day apart. Sadie got the brains, Boomer the brawn. Tragically, we lost Saddie in 2005.

JAKE & DELILAH The Barn brats....Jake (has more white) and Delilah joined our family as wee little kitties the summer of 2007. They have been raised in the barn, and are a great team! Jake is Mr. Friendly. His main function in life is to greet each new visitor to the barn with some cuddles and purrrrrs....Delilah, on the otherhand, is friendly, but much more serious. Her main function is that of huntress and she is a mean moth killer! In addition to moths, she makes sure all the snakes and rodents stay clear as well....They are adored by all who know them! Thanks to Samantha for taking these great pics!
BANJO & FIDDLE Here at Westwood we practice Natural Weed Extraction. Banjo and Fiddle are here to ensure every unwanted and unwelcome weed on the premise is located, extracted, and processed as naturally as nature will allow. In other words, They are going to eat and eat and eat and eat until there is nothing left for them to eat! I highly doubt we will EVER see that day though! We are hoping that Banjo and Fiddle take a particular liking to the sweet tastiness of Poison Ivy and Thistles! Only time will tell. Banjo is a male black/gray Pygmy Goat born around January of 2008. Fiddle is a female black/tan pygmy goat born around November 2007. They are funny and friendly and always up for visitors! They are a great addition to our ever growing family here at Westwood.
TREASURE Treasure is Randi's miniature horse. He will be a part of our family for the rest of his life. He was born in 1996, and has been trained to pull a cart. He has also toted Randi around in Leadline classes. She was her FIRST horse, and her mount in her FIRST horse show. He is a special part of our family, and a center point at our farm. He has been to local schools promoting equine interests, hosted visitors for County Farm and Family tours, and participated in fundraisers for our local extension office....he's a go to guy, and we are so lucky to have him in our lives! We love you "Tres"! (Treasure is pictured above with his BFF, Dually.)
WOODIE 2005 AQHA Gelding Sire: Arts Self Portrait Dan: RR Red or Not by RR Slo Slippin Story "Woodie" came to us as a long yearling in need of some TLC....he has gotten that, and much more! He is truly a positive personality, and a pleasure to work with. As an Amateur, I appreciate that he has been super easy to break and train...He was lightly shown locally his 3 yr old year, and was always in the ribbons! Woodie is one of those goofy personalities that can keep you entertained day in and day out...if it is within he reach, he MUST taste it, bite it, step on it, or male friends with it...he is our farm embassador of goodwill and friendship for all who stop in! Woodies claim to fame are the hunter events (Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation, Jumping), but he is in training for the All-Around events as well (Showmanship, Horsemanship, Trail, Driving). Woodie is quiet and sensible and is also used for a leisurely trail ride as time permits! He is one of those few great horses that can do just about anything you would want to do....and do it with charisma.
FANCY 2006 AQHA Mare Sire: Silks Shining Spark be Shining Spark Dan: Lineage includes Blair Cee, Hollywood Jac 86 "Fancy" was purchased as a two year old with some basic handling. Since her arrival, she has proven to be a real sweetheart of a mare, and a pur joy to work with. I thought Woodie (above) was easy to handle, but Fancy is giving him a run for his money! Her groundwork is moving along without issue, and I look forward to getting her under saddle in 2009. Once she has the basics down, she will be headed to a reining trainer for the finishing touches....although reining will be Fancy's forte', she will also be trained in Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Trail, Western Riding, Hunter Under Saddle, Driving and Jumping! Like Woodie, she has the disposition and movement to be one of the special few you can pull out of her stall and do whatever you want to do that day...we are blessed with many great local show circuits, as well as AQHA and NRHA affiliate shows within driving distance...with horses like Fancy and Woodie, we will get to enjoy a little bit of everything....
